All companies rely on technology. Not just to run their businesses but also to communicate with their customers. Technology is a critical element and without it, there simply isn’t a business.
But I am not talking about infrastructure. After all, until relatively recently, all companies had premises but no-one suggested all companies were property companies. What I am talking about is the core elements of your offer. What you deliver is rapidly becoming a technology product or service.
Disagree? Think of it this way, then. Could Google, Apple, Amazon or Microsoft come into your market and win customers? If not now, then next year? Or in 3 years? Or 5?
If the answer is yes (and it almost certainly is for most of you), then you are a tech company. Or you’d better become one if you want to survive.
