“What the hell is that?” I hear you ask.
That’s pretty much what I said. Well, it stands for National Blog Posting Month (yes, catchy, isn’t it?) and it’s a bit like NaNoWriMo.
What’s that? That’s not really helping? Oh, yeah, well NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month, which also runs in November, and is where people pledge to write every day and produce 50,000 words (i.e. a novel) by the end of the month.
So for NaBloPoMo, people undertake to blog every day for a month, namely November (although, confusingly, you can do it any month you want).
So that’s what I’m going to do, inspired by a conversation with @technokitten. Obviously, I should have started on Wednesday, the 1st, but I didn’t know about it then. So, having missed that, the next best time to start is now, which is why I am posting this.
I am going to blog something every day up to Dec 2 (just to make it the full month) and I am going to try some new stuff out, both in what I write about and how I blog. There’s going to be some video, some graphics, maybe a podcast-type thing. It’s going to be an experiment. Because experiments are good, that’s how we find out what works.
Feedback is good too, so if a blog really floats your boats (or sinks them) then let me know. I might even give a prize to one of you at the end.
We’ll see. Exciting, isn’t it?
